DCX

DCX was originally founded in 1997 by producers Joel Kalsi and Ari Myllymäki, and the band performed under different pseudonym DC-10. The band's biggest track was Joel's scoring of "Flying High", which gained a number of listeners world wide in values of seven digits!

In 2005 Joel reproduced "Flying High" and the name was changed to DCX, to represent the roman number 10 and also to leave a mark pointing towards the "ex-project". Ari continued as a producer with Joel in the new setup, but doesn't take part on the actual band itself. During the years Joel had been working on live gigs at tv-shows with Olli, so it was natural to invite Olli to play on stage as a DCX keyboardist. Through Olli's singer roster the crew also found Katri, the lead singer of DCX.

The first DCX gig was a direct TV live show, and soon more bookings started flooding in. The first release "Flying High" went #1 on the Finnish Club Chart and 4 weeks in a row at #1 position on the Finnish Disco Chart, where it stayed for a total of 48 weeks!

DCX approached ABBA, the biggest influence to Disco music ever, in order to have a permission for releasing a cover version of "Knowing Me, Knowing You". It took several months to get the permission but after it was cleared, the band announced news about music video, which has been shot in Oulu, Tampere, Riga, Berlin, London, Barcelona and Montserrat. The video was released in full HD format in June 2007.

The crew has performed aside with numerous big names like Vinyl Shakerz, Akcent, Natural Ex, Groove Coverage, September, Ian van Dahl, Basic Element, Basshunter, Fragma, Tina Cousins to name a few!

The band is is releasing their debut album "Flying High" in late 2007, which is said to have only single releases from beginning to end! The fifth single from the album is out in October, entitled "Don't Break My Heart".

BORIS DVORNIK

1939 † 2008

Otišla je još jedna hrvatska glumačka legenda - Boris Dvornik, koji je preminuo od moždanog udara u bolnici u Splitu. Poznati filmski, kazališni i televizijski glumac trebao je za koji tjedan proslaviti 69 rođendan. Rođen je 16. travnja 1939 u Splitu, a glumiti je počeo s 8 godina, kada je nastupao u dječjim predstavama. Pohađao je školu za električare, a zatim je otišao u Novi Sad i maturirao u Srednjoj glumačkoj školi, nakon čega je upisao Kazališnu akademiju Sveučilišta u Zagrebu.

Za vrijeme studiranja glumio je u "Devetom krugu" (1960), napetoj drami o mladiću koji za vrijeme rata pokušava spasiti mladu Židovku. Film je postigao veliki uspjeh, a iako se u sljedećim filmovima ("Martin u oblacima") dokazao i u komičnim nastupima, krajem 60ih se specijalizirao za uloge u partizanskim filmovima ("Bitka na Neretvi"). Nakon "Mosta" Hajrudina Krvavca najuspješniji je bio nastup u ratnom filmu Antuna Vrdoljaka "Kad čuješ zvona", za koji je 1969 dobio nagradu na Pulskom festivalu.

Uloge koje su mu obilježile karijeru bile su ipak one u televizijskim serijama, i to uglavnom onim nastalim po tekstu Miljenka Smoje. Prvo je glumio Roka Prča u humorističnom "Našem malu mistu", potom i brijača Meštra u "Velom mistu". U partizanskoj seriji "Kapelski kresovi" bio je popularni Dimnjačar, a krajem 80ih pojavio se u najgledanijoj seriji u bivšoj Jugoslaviji, "Boljem životu". Uz brojne TV drame i serije snimio je ukupno preko 40 dugometražnih igranih filmova ("U gori raste zelen bor", "Licem u lice", "Čovek nije tica", "Kiklop", "Duga mračna noć").

Znao se pojaviti i na estradi, a njegovi sinovi Dino i Dean glumili su kao klinci u filmovima, ali su kasnije otišli u pjevačke vode. 80ih godina Dvornik sve više glumi i u kazalištu, u splitskom HNK, gdje će se osobito pamtiti nastupi u djelima Ive Tijardovića ("Male Floramy", "Splitski akvarel"), Ive Brešana ("Hamlet u selu Mrduša Donja") i Miljenka Smoje ("Roko i Cicibela", "Roko krvolok").

Godine 1992 Boris Dvornik ušao je u Hrvatski sabor kao zastupnik HDZa, no iz politike se brzo povukao, ističući kako mu to u karijeri "nije trebalo". Za vrijeme rata raskinuo je prijeteljstvo s kolegom iz Srbije, Batom Živojinovićem koji je tada branio Miloševićevu politiku. U zadnje vrijeme se više puta javno mirio (i svadio) s kontroverznim srpskim glumcem koji je bio ozbiljno bolestan.

Pred kraj života Dvornik je imao problema s alkoholom, te je sudjelovao u nekoliko incidenata. Doživio je i moždani udar, zbog čega je otkazao sve glumačke angažmane. Ipak, počeo se oporavljati i nakon duže pauze počeo je glumiti u TV serijama, te je prije smrti posljednji put nastupio u "Ponosu Ratkajevih". Ostaje jedan od najpopularnijih glumaca u Hrvatskoj i bivšoj Jugoslaviji, gdje će ga pamtiti po ulogama u nezaboravnom filmovima i serijama.

Nakon što je prije desetak dana bio jedan od četvorice nominiranih u kategoriji L'artiste De Musiques Électroniques Ou Dance De L'Anée na dodjeli vrlo uglednih nagrada Victoires De La Musique 2008.

Bob Sinclar doživio je ogroman porast u prodaji svoja trenutno dva aktualna albuma "Live At The Playboy Mansion" i "Sounds Of Freedom" na europskom tržištu.

Jedan od najuglednijih autora u svom glazbenom žanru, sredinom listopada prošle godine objavio je novi album pod nazivom "Live At The Playboy Mansion", a itekako je i u inozemstvu i kod nas još aktualan njegov predzadnji album "Sounds Of Freedom" objavljen početkom lipnja prošle godine. "Prestrašno, ne mogu vjerovati", šokirala se Danijela Dvornik (40) čuvši da je ona pobjednica prve sezone Celebrity Big Brothera

Omiljenom poštapalicom stanara Celebrity Big Brothera “prekoma” ukratko se može opisati dvotjedno RTL-ovo prikazivanje reality showa.

Koliko je gledateljima naporno bilo prenemaganje hrvatskih Celebritya, shvatili su i u RTL-u te odlučili završiti prikazivanje tjedan dana ranije. Stanari su iz kuće izlazili prema tome tko je dobio najmanje glasova publike. Marko Grubnić, koji je zahvaljujući svom ponašanju dobio i novi nadimak "modni plači mačak", prvi je napustio kuću.

Kao pobjednica prvog Celebrity Big Brothera iz kuće je izišla Danijela Dvornik koja je obiteljsku blagajnu time obogatila sa sto tisuća kuna, a svojom duhovitošću, marljivošću i miroljubivim ponašanjem stekla je naklonost publike i postala prva žena koja je pobijedila u ovom showu.

"Totalno sam bez teksta, nisam razmišljala o tome hoću li pobijediti. Eto, sad moji doma imaju biti zašto ponosni na mene", komentirala je Danijela pobjedu. Iako je njegova nezainteresiranost za izvođenjem dnevnih zadataka išla svima na živce i bila prilično naporna, Marko Grubnić po izlasku iz BB kuće rekao je kako se on super zabavio.

nR Element - So Curious

Walz Music and nR Element have teamed up with Akyr Music, lead by Italo Disco and Eurobeat guru Laurent Gelmetti, and released "So Curious" EP remixes internationally on iTunes.

The club remixes are derived from the original song on nR Element's album "Miscommunication". It's a flirty and catchy effort with a classic Eurodance rap in addition to Ana's sultry vocals. Stay tuned for the release of nR Element's next album in 2008. The second Dance album, like the first, will have strong Italo, classical, choral, video game, and anime influences.

E-Type - Eurotopia

The Eurodance ambassador E-Type is here again, with a new album titled "Eurotopia". Nana Hedin is not a part of the crew anymore, but Martin Erikson has found a perfect replacement for her, as Sanne Karlsson handles her vocals so well that she could already be called the number one female Eurodance singer.

Max Martin, the world-famous Pop producer from Sweden, is now involved in the production of only two songs, the single releases "True Believer" and "Eurofighter". Even though both songs could have benefitted from a more intense chorus, Sanna Karlsson still shines when it comes to vocals, which makes the songs very likable. Their soundscapes are also filled with several catchy moments.

Ever since its track list was released, "Eurotopia" seemed like a fairly short album, in terms of Pop music at least, as it only included nine songs. The same feeling of rushed production can be felt on the released album as a whole, even though it has been more than three years since the previous E-Type album. In addition to the singles, the only decent songs on the album are “the poor man’s Ecuador” "The Tide" and the summer-like "Ding Ding Song", which features a yet another splendid vocalist Anna Nordell. "To The Lions" manages to be at least moderately appealing with its chorus and a fairly catchy soundscape, but it was clearly a mistake to save E-Type’s vocals until the last moments of the song.

Even though "Last Day Alive" did sound surprisingly good when I heard it on the radio at the gym today, it’s still an uninspiring and cliché-ridden example of the most basic E-Type-style songwriting. "Like A Child", on the other hand, does posses occasional drive and well-performed rapping by E-Type, but as a whole this song completely wastes its energy without ever realizing its full potential.

Many listeners probably remember "Me No Want Miseria", the debut song of E-Type which became quite a classic, even though it sounds nothing like the songs he released afterwards. As in that early release, E-Type performs no vocals on "Make Us High" and "Inside". "Make Us High" is a run-of-the-mill Dance-Pop track and the same goes to "Inside" with its trendy but uninspiring use of bass sounds. Instead of letting Sanne Karlsson to handle the vocals, some unknown singer makes the song sound nothing like E-Type and thus feels more like a filler track.

It will be interesting to see how the fans will react to the fact that this album has only six tracks that actually sound like E-Type... Four good songs are hardly enough to justify calling this one a classic…

A singer, a TV hostess and an ex-Big Brother housemate

Ena Popov was born in Novi Sad, Serbia, on October 9, 1986, to father Stevan Popov, a private entrepreneur in advertising business, and his second wife, Milijana Markisic Popov, a journalist. She has a half-brother and a half-sister from her father's first marriage.

Ena grew up in Novi Sad where she received her primary and secondary education and started her university studies at the Faculty of Enterprise Management at "The Karic Brothers" University in 2006.

In the summer of 2006 Ena applied for the Serbian version of the Big Brother reality show. She entered the Big Brother house on September 15, 2006 and stayed in for 92 days. Despite the fact that she didn't win the game, she distinguished herself amongst the other contestants not only by her exquisite charm and beauty, but also by somewhat controversial relationship with her fellow housemate, Marko Miljkovic, that made them the most popular love pair in Serbian media at the moment.

Although she already had some show business experience working for the local TV house "Jesenjin", her participation in the Big Brother show was certainly a booster to her starting career. Not long after leaving the Big Brother house, she made it to the covers of numerous magazines, becoming an interesting subject to fashion and entertainment industries.

In the spring of 2007, she signed a contract with the "Sweet Years" fashion house and started working as their PR manager.

But her biggest success in 2007 was a business agreement with one of the major Serbian record and entertainment companies, called Grand Production. The first part of that deal was her arrangement as a hostess of "The Stars Of Grand 2007" ("Zvezde Granda") TV show, which is aired on the biggest Serbian TV network - Pink Television. The second part of the deal was the production of her first full-length solo album, will be released in spring 2008. A single from that album has already been released in May 2007 and it's called "Naivna" ("Naive").

The story of this gorgeous, talented and prosperous young woman has yet to be told as her career rises up and unfolds...

NIGHTWISH FEAT. PAIN

Finski Symphonic-Metal band Nightwish, koji je nastao 1996, nakon tri se godine ponovno zaustavio u Ljubljani. Ovaj su put nastupili s novom pjevačicom Anette Olzon koju su putem audicije odabrali između 2.000 prijavljenih kandidatkinja, nakon što su otpustili prijašnju pjevačicu Tarju Turunen.

Koncertu je prethodio popriličan broj zapleta, najprije je zbog hokejske utakmice premješten iz velike u malu dvoranu Hale Tivoli, a zatim je još i prebačen s 20 na 21:30.

Kao predgrupa nastupio je švedski Industrial-Metal band Pain, čiji je vođa Peter Tägtgren, pjevač i gitarist banda Hypocrisy. Band je nastao 1996 godine i do sada su izdali već 6 albuma. Zanimljivo je to da band, zapravo, ima samo jednog člana (Peter Tägtgren), koji na studijskim snimkama sam svira sve instrumente. S pratećim bandom svira samo na nastupima uživo.

Nightwish je zbog kašnjenja na pozornicu izašao tek oko 22:50, no za čekanje, već pomalo iscrpljenoj publici, iskupili su se izvrsnim nastupom. Nova pjevačica Anette Olzon odlična je zamjena Tarji, ima čudesan glas i odlično pjeva, ali i unatoč tome kod nekih starijih pjesama još uvijek bolje paše Tarjin vokal. Na koncertu su uz stare hitove odsvirali i 7 pjesama s njihova posljednjeg studijskog albuma "Dark Passion Play" ("Bye Bye Beautiful", "Whoever Brings The Night", "Amaranth", "The Islander", "The Poet And The Pendulum", "Sahara" i "7 Days To The Wolves").

Na žalost su, kao i obično, svirali samo sat i pol, no publika je, bez obzira na sve, na kraju bila oduševljena.

DEF LEPPARD

Def Leppard, Great Britain's premiere arena Rock band, is back with a bang - kicking off 2008 with the release of their 14th studio album and a U.S. arena concert tour scheduled for this spring. Entitled "Songs From The Sparkle Lounge" (Bludgeon Riffola/Island/UMe), the album set for release on April 29, contains 11 new songs including the highly-anticipated single "Nine Lives" featuring a groundbreaking collaboration with Country music superstar Tim McGraw. The band is set to debut the single on ABC-TV's "Dancing With The Stars" on April 29 and on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on April 30. "Songs From The Sparkle Lounge" is Def Leppard's first album of brand new material since 2002's "X" and begins yet another remarkable new chapter in the band's 30-year recording career.

Recorded last year during month-long stints at lead singer Joe Elliott's Dublin studio, the album's title refers to a backstage area called "The Sparkle Lounge" on Def Leppard's 2006 tour where the band would go to write songs. Tracks from the album have been described by the group as written in the style of "Hysteria", with the production of "High'n'Dry".

"The whole record's got a great '70s feel", said lead singer Joe Elliott. "By our standards, it's a very different album as we've been very adventurous, musically, on certain numbers. On the album there are classic Def Leppard songs and then there's also tracks that are very New-Wave influenced while others sound like middle-to-late '70s AC/DC. There will definitely be some moments on it where anybody that's familiar with our music will go, "Whoa! I wasn't expecting that!""

The foundation for the album's collaboration with Country music superstar Tim McGraw was laid at Def Leppard's 2006 Hollywood Bowl show where McGraw joined the band on stage for an encore performance of "Pour Some Sugar on Me." The artists stayed in touch following the performance, and when the band started writing the song "Nine Lives" they immediately thought of reaching out to McGraw to sing on it. Guitarist Phil Collen flew to Nashville to play it for McGraw who loved it and recorded the song in Nashville shortly after. Other standout tracks on the album include "Go," reminiscent of the band's classic track "Rocket" in it's power and aggressive tribal beat; "Love", an emotive and moving epic song; and the anthemic "Tomorrow", a song written by guitarist Collen about the death of his father.

Great news from Germany!

Nightwish were awarded an ECHO as band of the year in the category "Rock/Alternative (international)".

Nightwish received their award at the ceremony in Berlin, Germany which was broadcast by RTL television.

The other nominees in that category were Foo Fighters, Kaiser Chiefs, Marilyn Manson and Within Temptation.

Također se bavila i manekenstvom i plesom ali u slobodno vrijeme. Trenutno je studentica visoke poslovne škole. Podvrgla se operaciji smanjenja grudi radi zdravstvenih a ne estetskih razloga. Stefany se također slikala za Klik te je radi svojih grudi uvijek rado viđena na skoro svim eventima. Rekla je u jednom interviewu da se drugim dečkima događalo da dobiju šamar od cure radi buljenja u njezine grudi.

Bila je u vezi s mladim tenisačem u usponu Lukom Belićem s kojim je prekinula jer je mladi tenisač u usponu i trenutno ne treba nikakvu dugu vezu. Trenutno je u vezi s nešto starijim tenisačem Tomislavom Perićem, sinom vlasnika dubrovačkog restorana.

YNGWIE MALMSTEEN

Former Judas Priest/Iced Earth singer Tim "Ripper" Owens has now officially joined Yngwie's band. The legendary Swedish guitarist announced the news to the Guitar World staff today when he came to the magazine's New York headquarters for an exclusive interview and photo shoot.

Malmsteen and Owens are hard at work on a new CD, which is currently scheduled for a July release (TBC).

Owens and Malmsteen previously collaborated on a cover of Ozzy Osbourne's "Mr. Crowley", which appeared on the "Flying High Again: The World's Greatest Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne", released in March 2006 via Magick Records. Listen to the track on YouTube.

Owens recently worked with Queensryche guitarist Michael Wilton on demo recordings for the new Soulbender album (Wilton's side project).

Owens's predecessor, Doogie White, was a member of Yngwie Malmsteen's band for six and a half years. Doogie joined Malmsteen's band in September 2001 and recorded two albums with the legendary Swedish guitarist: "Attack" (2002) and "Unleash The Fury" (2005).

"I had a long chat with Yngwie today and it is clear that he wants to move musically in a new direction", Doogie said in a statement that was released to blabbermouth.net .

"It's great news that he will be expanding on his undoubted talents both as a writer and guitarist. I just want to thank, publicly, Yngwie and the many band members past and present that I have worked with. It seems appropriate that we started our working relationship in South America in September 2001 and finished in South America in December 2007. Now, anyone need a singer??"
